Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) is an Oslo-based Humanitarian organization working in the field of Mine Action. We have operated in Vietnam since 2007 with Representative office and projects in Hanoi, Hue, Quang Tri and Quang Binh. We are seeking for qualified, enthusiastic, experienced Vietnamese applicants for a fulltime position as a Project Coordinator with GIS specialization. The position is based in the project office at Thach Hoa, Thachš That, Quoc Oai, Hanoi with travels to field offices in provinces as work required. Transportation is āprovided from a pickup point in Hanoi to support travel to the workplace.Ā

Specific duties of the position:
- Data Structure Configuration: Collaborate with the IMTA to lead the customization and configuration of the IMSMA Core data structure to align with VNMACās operational workflows and information management requirements. This includes designing and implementing data categories, fields, and relationships within the system.
- Development and Refinement of Input Forms: Work under the guidance of the IMU Director and with advice from the IMTA to develop user-friendly input forms for field data collection. Ensure that these forms support accurate and consistent data capture across various regions and operational contexts.
- Data Migration Procedures: Create and oversee data migration strategies to ensure the smooth transfer of historical data from legacy systems into IMSMA Core. This task involves validating data integrity and performing thorough quality checks throughout the migration process.
- Database Oversight: Assist the IMTA in establishing and maintaining comprehensive geospatial databases, ensuring secure data storage with access protocols that enhance data integrity and privacy.
- Advanced Data Analysis: Support the IMTA in using GIS tools to conduct advanced spatial analyses, providing insights that inform mine action strategies and priority settings. Generate detailed reports and visualizations to promote data-driven decision-making.
- Workflow Streamlining: Collaborate with the IMTA to identify and implement process improvements aimed at reducing redundancy and increasing the efficiency of data-related workflows. Automate routine tasks where feasible to allocate resources for strategic activities.
- Training Program Design: Partner with the IMTA to design comprehensive training curricula that cover all aspects of geospatial data management and the use of the IMSMA Core system. Adapt training sessions to meet the diverse needs of VNMAC personnel, ranging from introductory to advanced skill levels.
- Any other tasks assigned by line manager.

Required qualifications ā experience:
Ā- Education: Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Requirements:
- Proven experience as a GIS Specialist, with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills and previous work. Candidates should be able to share online links, digital portfolios, or detailed case studies of completed projects to verify their expertise. Examples of work should include spatial data analysis, map creation, GIS modelling, and problem-solving within real-world projects. The ability to present a diverse range of projects ā from urban planning to environmental management ā is highly valued.Ā
- Demonstrable expertise in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms, with hands-on experience in data management and spatial analysis.
- Skills:
- Proven proficiency in GIS software, including ArcGIS Desktop and Server, Survey123, and Python, along with strong spatial data analysis capabilities.
- Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Intermediate to advance English skills
